Qualifying for a Nationals' Berth

There are several ways to qualify for Nationals.

  • At-Large qualifications through points you earn through participation and/or through the number of events you play (see below).
  • Direct qualification through how you place in a tournament (see below).
  • For Teams located in an area without a State Director, or teams with a hardship due to the distance they live from any USSSA qualifiers, can apply to the USSSA National Championship director by emailing us.

There are several processes by which a team can gain an At-Large USSSA Post Season berth:

  • USSSA Points:  Teams can earn an At-Large by participating in USSSA events throughout the season.  If a team earns 150 Points through USSSA participation they will automatically be granted an At-Large Berth.
  • For 2019 teams from NY and New England can also earn an At-Large berth by playing in 2 qualifiers in the 2019 season. For other states check with your state director.

You earn points toward quailfications in events based on many criteria.
